Silvia Covarino, an architect, urbanist, educator, specialized with a Master in Urban Planning and has a PhD in Rehabilitation and Recovery of settlements from Sapienza University of Rome. She has held numerous research and teaching positions within the key theme of urban contemporary socio-anthropological urban living, with experience of participatory planning, on issues of the upgrading of settlements in a different context between Europe, Center America and Mediterranean area. She has actively participated in the seminars and workshops, as a speaker in conferences and elaborates documents for Seminar, some works are published. She has collaborated above all with professional architecture. Also works well for some research in urban areas. Between 2015-2019, she is was Assistant Professor at Girne American University in Northern Cyprus and teaching Architectural and Urban Design Studios and theoretical courses in undergraduate and graduate courses (including MArch and PhD in Architecture programmes). Actually is an associate Professor at German University in Cairo, at the Architecture and Urban Design Department.
